Ankle & Foot Pain
Ankle and Foot Pain Treatment in Leamington Spa & Warwick
Your feet and ankles are the foundation of your whole body, so when they are painful or unstable it can affect far more than just the area that hurts. Patients across Leamington Spa and Warwick often mention ankle and foot pain when walking, running, standing at work, or during the first few steps in the morning that feel sharp and awkward. Left unchecked, these issues can also influence the knees, hips and lower back because the rest of the body has to compensate.
What is ankle and foot pain?
Ankle and foot pain can come from joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, fascia or changes in loading through the arch and heel. Common examples include sprains, plantar fascia irritation, stiffness after repeated ankle rolls, heel pain and pain linked with overpronation or poor foot control. Because the foot is such a complex structure, small changes in movement can have a big effect over time, particularly if you are active or on your feet a lot.
Common signs and symptoms
- Pain in the heel, arch, ankle or top of the foot
- Sharp first-step pain in the morning
- A weak or unstable feeling after previous ankle sprains
- Pain when running, walking or standing for long periods
- Stiffness in the ankle joint or calf tightness
- Symptoms that start in the foot but affect the knee or hip
Common causes
- Previous ankle sprains or repeated rolling of the ankle
- Plantar fascia overload or heel irritation
- Tight calves and reduced ankle mobility
- Foot mechanics such as overpronation
- Training changes, long standing or increased walking
- Footwear that does not support your current needs.
How we can help at Park Street Chiropractic
At our Warwickshire clinic, we assess your feet and ankles as part of the wider movement chain. Treatment may include joint mobilisation techniques to improve ankle movement, chiropractic care for related areas such as the knee, hip or pelvis, and dry needling (acupuncture) for tight calf or foot muscles. Our separate sports massage therapist can also help with deeper soft tissue and deep tissue release where needed.
Our gait scan (static and dynamic) is particularly useful here, allowing us to study how your foot is actually loading during standing and walking. Where appropriate, custom orthotics can then be used to support the foot, improve mechanics and reduce repeated overload through the heel, arch and lower limb. If on-site digital X-ray imaging would help clarify structural change, we will discuss that with you clearly. The aim is to help you stand, walk and move with less pain and more stability.
If ankle or foot pain is making every step harder, book a consultation with Park Street Chiropractic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can chiropractic help with ankle and foot pain?
Yes. Chiropractic care, combined with hands-on therapy and gait assessment, can support many forms of mechanical ankle and foot pain. By improving joint movement, addressing tight muscles and looking at how your foot loads through the day, we help patients across Leamington Spa and Warwick move more comfortably.
What can I do at home to help plantar fasciitis?
Several small habits can make a difference. Try gentle calf and foot stretches, use supportive shoes around the house rather than walking barefoot on hard floors, avoid sudden jumps in activity, and consider rolling your arch over a cold bottle or massage ball. At your appointment, we will give you a tailored home plan and assess whether custom orthotics may help.
Is chiropractic safe for foot and ankle problems?
Yes. We use gentle joint mobilisation techniques, careful adjustments where appropriate, and modify our approach based on the type and stage of injury. If your symptoms suggest a need for imaging or onward referral, we will explain that clearly.

I've been going to Park Street Chiropractic Clinic for a number of years now, following some lower back issues. Initially, I was treated by Abbie, who was fantastic in aiding my early recovery, supported superbly a handful of times by Henry when she was on leave. After an initial assessment, I had a course of treatments that involved multiple sessions per week to help get over my injury before transitioning to less frequent ones every six weeks or so to keep me in check. More recently, I've been going to Ellie, who has been amazing at providing regular adjustments and helpful advice that helps keep me in shape, despite the best efforts of my desk job to achieve otherwise. Ellie, as with all of the chiropractors there, is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, as well as being very friendly, which helps to make the whole process much more relaxing than one would ordinarily associate with a medical treatment. All of the team, including the chiropractors and reception staff, are incredibly professional, friendly and welcoming, making visits there a pleasure. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ellie and any of the team at Park Street Chiropractic Clinic.Posted on Google![]()

I can’t thank Ellie enough for the excellent care I have received at Park Street Chiropractic clinic. I could hardly walk on my first appointment due to a back issue. Ellie was empathetic, supportive and patient, it’s taken me 3 months of regular manipulation appointments and now ongoing maintenance to get me back to 90% and back to walking my puppy 😊 Thank you and the whole team for your support.Posted on Google![]()

Having not seen a chiropractor for a long time, I went to see Ellie at Park Street Chiropractic, with chronic neck pain which was stopping me sleeping and impacting daily life. She swiftly recognised the issue and suggested a course of treatment, the impact of which was immediate. Would recommend Ellie and the team wholeheartedly.Posted on Google![]()

I saw Ellie for my hips/back and neck. I was an athlete for years so my joints are a tad hypermobile and Ellie came in like a queen and sorted me out. First visit had tons of relief, second visit had me fully back to normal. She’s an amazing godstar at her job. 10/10 go to her for care. I’ll be going in the future for any concernsPosted on Google![]()

I honestly can't recommend Henry highly enough, the treatment has made a huge difference, and I've been really impressed not only with Henry's knowledge and skill, but his genuine concern for his patients. I have literally recommended him to everyone I know.
