Neck Pain
Neck Pain Treatment in Leamington Spa & Warwick
Neck pain has become one of the most common modern complaints we see at Park Street Chiropractic. For some patients in Leamington Spa or Warwick, it is the steady ache that builds across the shoulders by the end of a working day. For others it is the sharp catch that appears when turning the head to reverse a car. Whatever it feels like for you, neck pain can quickly affect sleep, focus, mood and confidence in everyday movement.
What is neck pain?
Your neck, also known as the cervical spine, contains seven small vertebrae, discs, joints, ligaments, nerves and many hard-working muscles. It supports the weight of your head all day, which is a surprisingly demanding job. When those structures become stiff, tense, irritated or overloaded, pain can build up. In some cases, symptoms stay localised. In others, they spread into the shoulders, between the shoulder blades, into the head, or even down the arm. That is why a thorough assessment matters so much.
Common signs and symptoms
- Aching or stiffness at the base of the neck
- Pain turning the head or looking up
- Tension across the shoulders or upper back
- Headaches starting from the neck or base of the skull
- Pins and needles or numbness into the arm or hand
- A crunchy or grinding feeling with movement
Common causes
- Long hours at a laptop, phone or desk
- Forward head posture from prolonged screen use
- Stress-related muscle tension and jaw clenching
- Whiplash or previous injury
- Stiff facet joints in the cervical spine
- Disc irritation or general wear and tear over time
How we can help at Park Street Chiropractic
The first step is working out what is actually driving your neck pain. Your assessment at our Warwickshire clinic looks at how you move, your posture, daily habits, sleep position and where pain or restriction sits. From there, care is personalised to you. It may include gentle chiropractic spinal adjustments to improve restricted neck joints, joint mobilisation techniques when a softer approach suits you better, and dry needling (acupuncture) to release stubborn knots in the neck, shoulders and upper back.
Where deeper muscular release is needed, our separate sports massage therapist can support recovery with focused soft tissue and deep tissue work. We will also talk through practical adjustments to your desk setup, pillow choice and daily movement habits, because lasting change usually involves what happens between sessions. If we feel your symptoms warrant it, our on-site digital X-ray service can help clarify what we are working with.
If neck pain is affecting your day, book a consultation with Park Street Chiropractic today.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can chiropractic help with neck pain?
Yes. For most mechanical neck pain, chiropractic care can be a very effective option. By improving joint movement, easing muscle tension and addressing how the head and shoulders are loading through the day, many of our patients in Leamington Spa and Warwick find their neck feels freer and less reactive.
Why do I keep waking up with neck pain?
Waking with neck pain is often linked to pillow height, sleep position, jaw clenching, or unresolved tension from the previous day. We will ask about all of these during your assessment and give you tailored advice, because changing what happens overnight is often a big part of the answer.
Is it safe to have my neck adjusted?
For most people, yes. We screen carefully before starting, choose techniques to suit your body, and we have softer options available if traditional adjustments are not right for you. We will always explain what we are doing and check you are comfortable to proceed.

I've been going to Park Street Chiropractic Clinic for a number of years now, following some lower back issues. Initially, I was treated by Abbie, who was fantastic in aiding my early recovery, supported superbly a handful of times by Henry when she was on leave. After an initial assessment, I had a course of treatments that involved multiple sessions per week to help get over my injury before transitioning to less frequent ones every six weeks or so to keep me in check. More recently, I've been going to Ellie, who has been amazing at providing regular adjustments and helpful advice that helps keep me in shape, despite the best efforts of my desk job to achieve otherwise. Ellie, as with all of the chiropractors there, is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, as well as being very friendly, which helps to make the whole process much more relaxing than one would ordinarily associate with a medical treatment. All of the team, including the chiropractors and reception staff, are incredibly professional, friendly and welcoming, making visits there a pleasure. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ellie and any of the team at Park Street Chiropractic Clinic.Posted on Google![]()

I can’t thank Ellie enough for the excellent care I have received at Park Street Chiropractic clinic. I could hardly walk on my first appointment due to a back issue. Ellie was empathetic, supportive and patient, it’s taken me 3 months of regular manipulation appointments and now ongoing maintenance to get me back to 90% and back to walking my puppy 😊 Thank you and the whole team for your support.Posted on Google![]()

Having not seen a chiropractor for a long time, I went to see Ellie at Park Street Chiropractic, with chronic neck pain which was stopping me sleeping and impacting daily life. She swiftly recognised the issue and suggested a course of treatment, the impact of which was immediate. Would recommend Ellie and the team wholeheartedly.Posted on Google![]()

I saw Ellie for my hips/back and neck. I was an athlete for years so my joints are a tad hypermobile and Ellie came in like a queen and sorted me out. First visit had tons of relief, second visit had me fully back to normal. She’s an amazing godstar at her job. 10/10 go to her for care. I’ll be going in the future for any concernsPosted on Google![]()

I honestly can't recommend Henry highly enough, the treatment has made a huge difference, and I've been really impressed not only with Henry's knowledge and skill, but his genuine concern for his patients. I have literally recommended him to everyone I know.
